wedding day information

The day has finally come, lets talk about your wedding day, shall we :)
“After all the food has been eaten, the flowers have wilted, and the wedding dress has been put away, your wedding photographs are all you will have to remember one of the most important days of your life.  These special moments will only happen once, and while you might consider cutting costs in your wedding budget by bringing in an amateur, a family member, or hiring a low-cost, inexperienced wedding photographer, the photographs you will get by investing in a true professional photographer will be priceless.

When you consider all that goes into capturing a couple’s wedding day and how important those memories will be for future generations, why would you even consider hiring anything less than a professional wedding photographer with years of experience?  Investing in a professional photographer will allow you to relax and enjoy your wedding day, having entrusted your beloved wedding memories to a true pro in the wedding industry.”

Itinerary : Please make sure you send me a detailed itinerary (via e-mail) of how your wedding day will go.

Request : If you are wanting specific pictures, or wanting to be photographed by certain people I will need to be aware of this also through e-mail no later than a week before your wedding.

Time of Year : Think about the season that you’re getting married in. What kind of style and location would go with that time of year. Consider the weather for your guest, decorations, hair and make up .

Time of Day : I have so many brides tell me how much they love the lighting I capture, and then their wedding is being held at noon with high sun and hard direct lighting. It is no ones fault but my own for not educating my clients that the lighting is usually best in the mornings or evenings. I understand there is a lot that goes on during a wedding day, and while you can get gorgeous pictures no matter what the time of day it is, just keep in mind that important rule of lighting if you are wanting that soft golden light :)

Hair & Make-up: I highly recommend having your hair and make up done professionally. It will take away so much stress, and having you feel confident that you are professional done up. If not, make sure you wear heavier make-up than your everyday look, and definitely wear lipstick!

Getting ready: I LOVE getting those photo’s of the bride getting ready. Be sure to choose a location that is clutter-free and offers lots of natural light.

Just accept it : Accept that your dress will get dirty. Accept this, embrace this. The whole purpose of your wedding dress is to wear it on your wedding day. So please don’t obsess over keeping perfectly clean.

A few last words of advice…
The best advice I could give someone is to just embrace your wedding day! Don’t worry about the little things but more of who you are marrying and why. Take the time to notice what is going on around you and more importantly who is around you. You’re not there to make sure all your guests are ok or if everyone else is having fun.  They will have  great time knowing that the bride and the groom are having the time of your lives. When you forget about the camera and let loose, the best photos are created because the best moments happen right before our eyes :) Just have FUN and enjoy the day you will remember for the rest of your life. Everyone’s there to celebrate your union.  Be all smiles, laugh and cry tears of joy…… Soak up all the love and excitement around you. This is one of the most memorable days of your lives, and I truly feel honored to share it with you and be apart of it.
