Myla Ursua : 2 years old : Letter from Daddy

Together Sara & I have reached multiple landmarks; accomplishments that have brought us great joy. Despite the magnitude of those feats, the most significant thing we share in our ever growing relationship has been witnessing our little sweetheart grow and develop right before our eyes. On August 31, 2010 our introduction to parenthood began with a 14 hour labor process (Yikes), fortunately “the night is darkest right before the dawn” (Harvey Dent a.k.a 2 face, The Dark Knight) and things got much better once that was done. What I knew about parenting was equivalent to my understanding of Pinterest & HGTV, just about nothing. Regardless of my lacking comprehension of Fatherly intuition day by day as the child learned, so did I. Remarkably, my newly attained pride & joy was also my meek maestro that instructed me on topics such as humility, Faith, & Godliness. As well I lived under the assumption that I grasped the Plan of Salvation, yet her simple gestures and the depths of Gods creation was more influential from her eyes than any other manual taught from in sunday school.

Today we enter another stage in life, the supposed terrible 2’s; the phrase alone causes me to worry about whats in store next. Sara & I have loved in entirety the experience of parenting, even the roughest moments are things we lay around at night and laugh ourselves into tears about. Growing up I loved N’sync, and before you judge me, please know I have been their fan since the very first performance on the Disney channel. One of my favorite songs is God must a spent a little more time, the idea that God did anything more special to my daughter is not my point because we know he is equal in all things, especially his children, but I do believe he spent a fair amount of time piecing the perfect character for a very imperfect parent.
Thank You Myla, Happy Birthday, from Daddy
